Protection for Shrink Wrap Items
The first major consideration in shrink wrapping is padding the item. Padding will help protect the item from the plastic or the heat we use during installation. This padding also protects the plastic from sharp points or areas that can damage the wrap. The job fails if the plastic gets a hole in it after the job is complete. Natural elements can damage the item if the shrink wrap is damaged.
ASI uses many different padding types to ensure the item is protected properly. Some of our padding is simple foam; in other cases, it may be industrial-strength bubble wrap or a combination of both. Some competitors will try to save money by using old carpet pieces or cardboard to pad an item. At ASI, we do it right with new and professional padding.

Another essential consideration is securing the plastic to the item. If we cannot lift the item, then we must find a way to secure the plastic to the base. There are easy ways to do this, but they are not always correct and do not always last.
We find the best way to secure the plastic so that it creates a strong and long-lasting wrap. When an item can be lifted, we use our unique “cocoon” wrap to protect it 360 degrees. This technique ensures the object is protected on all sides, regardless of size and weight.

Last but not least, we consider the type of materials we use to shrinkwrap items. ASI has learned that using the best material available far outweighs the cost difference of using cheap material. Quality materials ensure the best product and ultimately save time and money. Cheaper materials can tear and expose objects to the elements, increasing the risk of damage.
We use durable plastic that stretches over objects without ripping or tearing. This material preserves items in their original condition for large periods.
Plastic shrink wrap also allows us to create a tight seal so moisture, bugs, and dirt cannot get in. Shrink wrap should also ensure different parts of machinery, transportation, or structures stay in place and in one piece.
